musichildren’22, in partnership with the Institute of Creativity and Educational Innovations – Universidad de Valencia and the Electronic Journal of Music in Education (LEEME) is orgazing two different publication opportunities for the proposals accepted to present during the conference.

You can apply for two different publications: 


1. An unpublished text as chapter in the book “Exploring creativities: creation as a strategy for learning music and the arts” (ARTSLAB Collection) ”(2023) editors: Adolf Murillo; Jesús Tejada; Mª Elena Riaño; Clarissa Foletto; Sara Carvalho and Lluís Solé; or
2. An article in a special issue of  Electronic Journal of Music in Education (LEEME)(indexed in Scopus, Q1 Music).

Deadline extension

The deadline for the musichildren’22 call for proposals was extended to 12 June 2022. The main goal of the musichildren’22 conference is to explore aspects of music for children, and music that is created by children. It aims to stimulate discussion, develop ideas, and disseminate research in the fields of Music Composition, Performance and Music Education. In addition, musichildren’22, in partnership with the Institute of Creativity and Educational Innovations – Universidad de Valencia and the Electronic Journal of Music in Education (LEEME) is orgazing two different publication opportunities for the proposals accepted to present during the conference.

Publication opportunities

musichildren’22, in partnership with the Institute of Creativity and Educational Innovations – Universidad de Valencia and the Electronic Journal of Music in Education (LEEME) is orgazing two different publication opportunities for the proposals accepted to present during the conference.
After the full paper submission (15 December 2022) authors of the best articles will be invited to write an unpublished text as chapter in the book “Creativity in the Classroom: Now it’s time to create: Sound Creation in Music Classrooms (ARTSLAB Collection) ”(2023) editors: Adolf Murillo; Jesús Tejada; Sara Carvalho; Clarissa Foletto; Mª Elena Riaño; Lluís Solé.
Moreover, a selection of articles will be peer-reviewed and published in a special issue of Revista Electrónica de LEEME (indexed in Scopus, Q1 Music).

We are very happy to inform you that musichildren symposium will happened in 2022!

The University of Aveiro and INET-MD (Institute of Ethnomusicology – Centre for Music and Dance Studies) will host the 2nd International Symposium: “Music for and by Children: Perspectives from Composers, Performers and Educators”, from 28th – 30th September 2022 in Aveiro, Portugal. 

The main goal of the musichildren’22 conference is to explore aspects of music for children, and music that is created by children. It aims to stimulate discussion, develop ideas, and disseminate research in the fields of Music Composition, Performance and Music Education. This 3 day event will host paper presentations, performances, workshops and discussions from around the world.

We are aware of the eventual restrictions related to the current global pandemic;  if necessary, we will adapt to a hybrid or online format.
